When using family development as a component of EAP, how do you select applicants for family development? JobSource now has staff trained and would like to start family development. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Cindy, participants come into our Family Development program by a variety of means - referrals internally and externally. But as a matter of routine procedure we try to make everyone who receives CANI assistance aware of the case management service. Then we let them self select by telling US that they are interested. These programs are not so successful when people are not in a place of receptivity. I wish our staff were more skilled in telling people about it and more adept at identifying those who might benefit the most so they could encourage. But life (unlike me) is imperfect. ;-)
